Join the Choir

The choir was originally formed in 2017 by Olivier Award winning Actress, and Director of The RTF, Janie Dee. The aim being to provide a space for anyone that enjoys singing, or just fancies a cuppa with likeminded people. As a Director of The RTF Janie knew that a choir could bring much joy to its attendees and in Janie’s words, ‘Singing is good for the soul’ and we couldn’t agree more.

In 2023 we teamed up with the Actors’ Benevolent Fund to become The RTF and ABF Choir, and now have over forty-five members.

It is free to attend, and we welcome all abilities. You don’t need to be able to read music, just come along and enjoy yourself. The sessions bring together theatrical people for a fun couple of hours of singing, and of course to have a cuppa and a chat before we start.

The choir have performed at Denville Hall, the residential home for all members of the theatrical profession, Brinsworth house, The Royal Variety Charities residential and nursing home for those who have served the entertainment industry and The RTF Christmas Concerts, annual Summer parties and our sister charities events.

We are led by Musical Director, Choirmaster and Actor, Stefan Bednarczyk, who leads us in a range of material from Musical theatre to Pop to Rock. Stefan teaches regularly at RADA, where he has been a guest musical director for 20 years.

We meet at St Pauls Church, Covent Garden (fondly known as the Actors Church) fortnightly on a Monday from 11am – 1pm.
